Scanning film - a rant of sorts.
For a while I tried to be modern and be on X (too fascist), BlueSky (nice but I still dont really get this stream of consciousness thing), and Threads (same thing - and…).
On Threads I posted a question, expecting a few answers - and instead I got literally shit on by almost the entire young hipster I shoot film community. I asked the simple question:
“If part of the film experience is the difference every film stock gives us - why do almost all the young influencers make all their film scans look like over exposed Portra 400?”
Not really the type of question where you think you would be called names I haven’t heard for years. I never did get a valid answer. I did get told they hoped I died soon.
I still wonder why that is but I’m not going to ask it publicly ever again thats for sure. But mostly I wonder - did any of the younger generation (many - not all mind you - of which love to disparage boomers) on the internet ever learn simple social manners?
